Remove the other end of the power cable from the surge protector, strip, or power outlet.
With your HP printer unplugged, connect another appliance into the wall outlet.
Turn On the plugged device to check if the outlet is working. If the outlet is not functioning properly, connect your HP printer to another socket.
Do not utilize a surge protector or strip.
Once the printer has been disconnected for at least sixty seconds, reinsert the power cord at the back of the HP Laserjet M281fdw printer. Replug the power cord directly to an outlet.
Turn On your Laserjet M281dw printer by force pressing the Power button.
Test the Power button or switch of your HP printer.
Ensure the cord is plugged into the rear of your HP Laserjet M281dw printer correctly.
Based upon the model of your HP printer, perform the instructions given here to begin a Power On or Off cycle.
For HP printers that has a Power button, press and release it to initiate a Power On or Off cycle. If your printer includes a Power switch, press it to the Off position.
Tap the Power switch to it’s On position to reset the printer and to start the power cycle process. If your Laserjet printer does not switch On, wait for about ten to twenty seconds.
Reset the Power Switch or long press the Power button again.
Test your power supply using another compatible cord.
Check the power connection by disconnecting the USB cable from your Laserjet M281fw printer and then confirm if your printer can turn On, else service it.
